Join us for a Bioblitz!
Main content start
A bioblitz is a communal event that focuses on recording as many species as possible within a specific location and time period. As part of Love Data Week, we'll be gathering information on our local biodiversity - around Stanford and the Hopkins Marine Station - to better understand the plants, animals, and critters that share the campus with us.
This year, our BioBlitz will run from February 1, 2026 to February 14, 2026.
Here's how to get started
- Download the iNaturalist app - available on iOS & Android.
- Create an account
- Find Projects under Profile, and look for Stanford Love Data Week 2026 BioBlitz and join us.
- Go explore campus or HMS and take photos of every species you find.
- Upload photos to the BioBlitz project and help us better understand our local biodiversity!
